Omakase at 55
FAQs
Q: What does “omakase” mean?
A: Omakase literally means “I leave it up to you.” At Omakase at 55, it means you surrender choice, and allow our chef to design your evening.
Q: Why only six seats?
A: The intimate, six-seat counter allows the chef to focus on you — tailoring each moment, each course, each detail. The result is personal, detailed, and deeply immersive.
Q: Can I request or avoid specific ingredients (e.g. allergies, dislikes)?
A: Our Omakase menu is based largely on both raw and cooked fish & shellfish. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guests with severe food allergies, as our omakase menu involves cross-contamination risks. We won’t be able to cater for vegetarian or vegan dietary requirements.
Q: How long does the experience take?
A: Typically 2 hours from start to finish, however, we kindly ask guests to arrive 15 minutes before their reservation.
All guests will be served at the same time, with service beginning promptly at the reservation time.
Q: What if I don’t like a dish?
A: Omakase is based on trust — but we want you to enjoy the evening. If you have serious dislikes/allergies, tell us at time of booking so we can advise.
Q: Can I come alone / as a couple?
A: Yes — we accept single, couple or small group bookings (up to six).
Q: What’s included in the price?
A: The multi-course tasting menu, chef’s service, and standard accompaniments (rice, condiments, plating). Drinks / pairings are extra.
