What is Omakase?
Omakase (literally: “I leave it up to you”) is the ultimate act of trust between guest and chef. Rather than choosing from a menu, you entrust your evening to the chef’s hands and taste the ocean’s finest offerings as seasonal inspiration, technique and tradition unfold, course by course.
At Omakase at 55, we embrace the spirit of Edomae - the Tokyo-born tradition where sushi reflects the seasons, the sea, and the chef’s intuition.
How it works
Upon booking, you reserve a seat at our chef’s counter. When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed with a short greeting, then handed over, completely, to the chef’s vision. Over the next 2 hours (approx.), you’ll be served a multi-course progression: from delicate appetisers through nigiri, small plates, seasonal seafood delights, and a concluding flourish selected by the chef. We remove choice. We allow craft. We bring you the moment.
